Apogee Jam"Apogee has hit one out of the park with the Jam. I have been disappointed with other interfaces I have used with my Mac Book Pro and Garageband. The Jam is not only easy to use, but sounds great. My guitar tracks are clean and the gain control ensures that my signal is strong. Any reservations about the price evaporated once I started using it. This is a serious recording interface."
Rudy Mikula from Waxahachie, TX |
Pro Gear for cheap"With Lion and iLife 11, GarageBand and Apogee JAM marry perfectly. Latency is non existent. Gain is adjustable on the hardware. GarageBand covers all other functions. It has a small hardware footprint and a small software print also, there is none. Use it with Logic, GarageBand, any software. Try it!!!"
Robert from Guitar Center |
Great Practice Interface"I couldn't be happier with the money I spent on this interface. It's very mobile and when I travel it's great for practice and getting down ideas. It works very good with Ampkit which was developed by Peavy but the add-ons can get pricy. For what the jam is intended for, it won't let you down."
Madseason from Musicians Friend |
Fantastic Product!"Worked without a flaw on a iphone 4s. Used with Garageband and Daw Multitrack. It's great that it sets itself up and that you can control the input level. Very clean and no latency issues whatsoever. You will be happy with this product. Price seems reasonable too."
Frank from Sweetwater |
Great fidelity for recording heart sounds too!"For medical education, I've been missing a way to digitally record heart sounds from my thinklabs stethoscope. as the iPhone audio input cuts off low frequencies, which are part of those sounds. The JAM has an excellent low frequency response, and combined easily with the peavey ampkit for recording."
TB from Mountain Top |
Amazing writing/jamming device"Thanks to the combination of the Apogee Jam and GarageBand for iPad. I've been writing a lot more music. It's incredible how good the guitar signal and the amps sound with this set up. Thank you Apogee and Apple."
SR from North Hollywood |
Absolutely LOVE it!"The title says it all. I love my Apogee JAM. I am also a huge proponent of Agile Partner/Peavey's AmpKit, which this works perfectly with. However, if you plug it in while using AmpKit, you'll have to close and open the app. No big deal, though. Also, compared to the Amplitube iRig I used to have, the sound quality difference is phenomenally better..."
MS from CHURCH HILL |
Skip the iRig & AmpKit...get the JAM!"Out of the box simple! Plug one end into the iPad dock port and your guitar in the JAM input and off you go. Has a handy input level control with colored LED's to let you know if output signal gets too hot.Plugged in my Tele and was recording a song in GarageBand in minutes. Sound quality was excellent... "
Brian from New Orleans |
Small size, Big sound"I surprised how easy this was to plug into my iPad2 and record into garageband. The should quality of the amps in G'band with the Jam rivaled any pedal effects pluggin I've used to date. Great investment for another way of getting your guitar into the digital realm."

GeekBeat.TV - Apogee JAM review"Traveling with a guitar amp is just not always possible and very costly with today’s airline fees. I found a product that will allow me to play guitar as if I had an amp" |

The Next Web - Apogee JAM guitar interface review"For $99 the Jam would be an absolute steal if it only worked with your Mac. But given that I can easily switch out the interface cable and plug it into my iPhone or iPad, it seems like a near-impossible price point for the quality of audio that it produces" |

Recording Magazine - Pocket-sized interfaces with Apogee power"The sound quality and fidelity, low latency and ease of use that we’ve come to expect from this company are again present in these new products. I expect more and more recordings to be produced using these types of interfaces. I, for one, am hooked." |

Cult of Mac -The Apogee Jam Transforms Your iPad Into Your Guitar’s Best Friend"Technical minutia aside, let’s talk about where the Jam really shines: fun. The Jam is incredibly fun to use. It opens up a whole new world of musical possibility. Now, you can transform your iPad and iPhone into your guitar’s best pal. Just plug in the Jam, boot up an amp app (of which there are some great ones on iTunes), plug your guitar in, and get lost in the sounds of different amps, pedals, microphones, cabinets — all available to you from the comfort of your couch. With the Jam and all the great guitar apps out there, it’s truly amazing how much you can do." |

Unique Squared - Apogee JAM guitar interface review"I think the JAM is the highest quality iOS guitar interface on the market and highly recommend this device for any iOS or Mac user creating music. The quality is good enough that a pro can use it and the cost is cheap enough that average Joe Blow garage rocker can afford it to record his rock opera magnum opus. Professionals are finally starting to take the iOS seriously and this is reflected in the quality of products currently being released for iOS devices." Read the blog and watch the video>

2011 Macworld Editors' Choice Award Jam won a 2011 Macworld Editors' Choice Award! The Eddy Awards are given to the best Mac products of the year by the editors of Macworld. It’s a task they take very seriously; starting with a list of over 130 candidates, they spend weeks discussing each product, debate its merits, and whether it fulfills their standards of quality, utility, innovation, value, and excellence. |
Rolling Stone "Bands and songwriters seeking a portable way to record music without lugging around cumbersome gear or investing in a pricey high-tech setup can inexpensively plug in and rock, courtesy of Apogee Electronics’ Jam." |
Wired "...Gorgeous sound exploded out of my headphones. Full of clarity, detail and nuance that I haven’t heard in an iOS app, the combination of Jam with Garageband’s amp simulation and effects technology created an unparalleled mobile experience. " |
|
Macworld "...Apogee Jam was the first product to support the iPhone 4 and use the dock connector instead of the headphone jack. The dock connector provides a higher quality connection with less crosstalk than the headphone jack" |
USA Today "I plugged in the Telecaster through Apogee's new Jam, a $100 attachment that goes into the 30-pin Apple connector, instead of the usual headphone input, for what was really clean, stellar sound." |
Music Radar "A treat to use, and a no-brainer for guitarists looking to maximise the value of their iPad." |
Blast Magazine "With a true “plug and play” setup, it takes just a few minutes before your ready for some high quality recording on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Unlike a simple adapter, JAM is a converter, which transforms the analog signal from your instrument to a digital one before it enters your device, avoiding any unwanted noise." |
Music Tech Magazine "An input indicator keeps you out of the red and the sound quality is noticeably better than any headphone port-based device we’ve used. It doesn’t suffer from horrendous crosstalk feedback at hi-gain settings, either." |
Billboard "I tried the Jam using Apple's GarageBand for some clean tones and then switched to AmpKit for the high-gain metal tones. Even with the gain turned up, the noise from the guitar was minimal when going through the Jam, but the tone was solid." |
