Apogee Inter-Face Cable (IFC)
Cable cross-reference Here are the special cables you need for various Apogee products. Note that standard cables (such as ADAT light-pipe or TDIF cables) are not listed.
Below is a description of the interface and breakout cables currently used with Apogee equipment, with their Apogee part numbers where appropriate, and an indication of alternative sources. Use the part number when ordering the Apogee cable from your dealer. These parts are not currently available from the On-line Store. AES16-DIGI-IFC To connect the Apogee AD-16 and DA-16 to the Pro Tools HD 192 Digital I/O, you can utilize a AES/EBU connection at 96k. This special cable connects the AD and DA-16 directly to the 192 Digital I/O. AES16-OUT-IFC DB25 to 8 x XLR Male. This cable connects the AES Output of the AD-16 AES/EBU Option Card to standard AES/EBU XLR connectors. The wiring is the same as the AD-8000-AES-IFC, except that all connectors are XLR male instead of half male, half female. Alternative: you can use an AD-8000-AES-IFC and add four XLR male-to-male adaptors. AES16-IN-IFC DB25 to 8 x XLR Female. This cable connects the AES Input of a DA-16 to standard AES/EBU XLR connectors. The wiring is the same as the AD-8000-AES-IFC, except that all connectors are XLR female instead of half male, half female. Alternative: you can use an AD-8000-AES-IFC and add four XLR female-to-female adaptors. AES-8-IFCDB25 to 4 x XLR Male + 4 x XLR Female. This cable connects an AMBus AES or AES+ card to standard AES/EBU XLR connectors. The cable handles four pairs (eight channels) in each direction. The wiring is the same as Yamaha AES interfaces using the DB25 connector. Alternatives are available from Yamaha, Hosa and others. Digi-8+ Interface Cablefor Pro Tools Mix Plus systems or Pro Tools HD Legacy port. This cable connects between an Apogee Digi-8+ card and the PCI card in a Mix Plus system, or the Legacy port on a Pro Tools HD system. It is a standard Pro Tools part and can only be obtained from Digidesign dealers. AD8-IFC DB25 to 8 x XLR Female. This cable allows the Apogee AP-8AD Yamaha A/D card to accept eight channels of analog input. Also suitable for use with the AD-16 (quantity 2 required for 16 channels). The wiring is the same as the analog input connector on a Tascam machine such as the DA-88. Alternatives are available from Tascam, Hosa and others. DA8-IFC DB25 to 8 x XLR Male. This cable delivers eight channels of analog output from the Apogee AP-8DA Yamaha card. Also suitable for use with the DA-16 (quantity 2 required for 16 channels), and the Trak2 or AD-8000 8-channel DAC cards. The wiring is the same as the analog output from a Tascam system such as the DA-88. Alternatives are available from Tascam, Hosa and others. SDIF-I/P-IFC Multipin D connector to multiple BNC. This cable connects between the SDIF output of a DASH digital multitrack and the INPUT connector of an AMBus SDIF-II card. It is available only from Apogee dealers. SDIF-O/P-IFC Multipin D connector to multiple BNC. This cable connects between the SDIF input of a DASH digital multitrack and the OUTPUT connector of an AMBus SDIF-II card. It is available only from Apogee dealers. |
