“My friend, and one of the greatest engineers I know, Mr. Kevin Ratterman, of La La Land studio in Louisville Ky where I live, was the one to first turn me on to the Symphony I/O. I was using Lynx Aurora converters at the time, which are very nice, but I brought one of the tracks I was working on at home over to Kevin’s studio to do some overdubs, and I was just blown away by how much more real estate there was for the tracks to live in with his Symphony I/O… I don’t know how else to describe it. That’s one problem I’ve always had with digital… it’s like you are trying to raise a giant family in an over-crowded house… but with Symphony I/O it was like I finally had a giant yard to send all the kids outside to play in the beautiful sunshine! I liked the Symphony I/O so much I bought 24 channels of it myself and haven’t looked back. I love using it with my pro tools HD rig recording at home, and mixed my upcoming solo record with Rick Kwan at Kevin’s studio thru the Symphony I/O converters. I also love how flexible they are and easy to work with in USB mode. We took a laptop, a few mic pre’s and the Symphony I/O into this beautiful church and did a remote string session there and it was super easy and sounded great using the Symphony’s fantastic front panel monitor and headphone listen back options. With all of that, plus the unlimited options to upgrade and update the software as well as card interface module options, it truly is a beautiful sight and sound to behold!”
